Hypnotherapy for Hoarding

Are you or someone you know struggling with hoarding behaviours and hoarding disorder?

You’re not alone. Hoarding is a serious issue that affects millions of people around the world, but it doesn’t have to be this way. With hypnotherapy, you can overcome your hoarding behaviours and get back to living the life you deserve.

Hoarding is an issue that affects many people, but it’s not something most people talk about. It can be difficult to know where to turn for help or how to get started on the path toward recovery.

People with hoarding behaviours often find it difficult to throw away items because they feel valuable or have meaning to them, or they may feel anxious when attempting to throw things away. This can result in a living environment where there is no free space, items are piled up and things can be difficult to access. In extreme situations, this may lead to difficulty in keeping living spaces clean and they may become unhygienic.

How can hypnotherapy help with hoarding disorder?

There are many reasons why someone may develop hoarding behaviours or hoarder tendencies, and they may experience related anxiety disorders like OCD, depression, PTSD or even ADHD. Whatever the reason behind your struggles with hoarding behaviour might be, as a clinical hypnotherapist I will work closely with you to find out what is causing these issues and how we can best address them together.

To understand how to support you best, our initial consultation will explore your current situation around hoarding and how it is impacting your life. We then discuss the best approach for you, this may be you coming into the therapy room for hypnotherapy sessions, or having remote sessions held online via Zoom. In some circumstances, it may require a home visit initially, but this is only in circumstances where this is appropriate for your recovery.

Our hypnotherapy sessions together will involve supporting you to release any unconscious thoughts, emotions, and beliefs that may be resulting in your behaviours. Making changes can seem daunting and overwhelming for many people who have hoarding disorder, therefore it's essential we go at a pace that you feel comfortable with but still make progress.
